Breaking The Poverty Cycle by Rose Grant

THE POOR IS EVERYONE'S PROBLEM. BUT GOD...

A while back the ABC News reported a weeklong series centered around “economic obesity” where the focal point was on America’s Fattest City—Detroit. The news coverage profiled our city as a city where some families are grappling with socioeconomic conditions that directly links poverty to obesity.

Many families living below the poverty line ($18,800 per year for a family of four), with very little to spend on food, are hard pressed to find a full-service grocery store in their poor neighborhoods which are usually lined with an abundance of fast-food restaurants offering $ menus.

It is cost-effective for someone who is “economically challenged” to purchase 5 fried McChicken sandwiches for $5 vs purchasing one salad for $4.

No wonder studies show that there is a higher chance of being obese if you live below the poverty line.

Obesity is not the only social ill borne out of poverty. The number one cause of divorce stems from money problems. Broken relationships, crime, debt, misery, depression and low self-esteem are just a few of the social ills that are linked to poverty.

Today’s working poor are caught in a vicious cycle of living a life which is lacking resources for reasonably comfortable living and convenient means.

How do you Break the Cycle of Poverty and change your economic destiny?

Breaking this vicious cycle of generational curse of the ravishing spirit of poverty starts with:

Step 1: Become rooted in the truth that it is not God’s will for us to be poor and humble. Before the foundations of this world God’s will was and still is today and forevermore—that His children, be wealthy and humble.

Step 2: Recognize that poverty is a spirit which seeks to steal your joy, kill your hope in God, and destroy your life. God has given us dominion and power over everything in the earth including the spirit of poverty.

Make a decision today to take authority over poor living conditions by boldly proclaiming “I break the power of poverty in my life. Poverty does not belong to me. I release God’s abundance and financial increase into my life. From this day forth I will no longer be poor!”

Meditate on the fact that God sent Jesus so that you can have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). This is a life as God has it. A life that is super-abundant in quantity and supreme in quality.

Step 3: Use the success manual. Use the word of God to renew your mind and change your situation. God sent His Word to heal you and deliver you from destructions— poverty included (Psalm 107:20).
God’s Word has enough power to take you from defeat to victory, from lack into abundance and make you whole, where you have nothing missing and nothing broken in your life.

Step 4: Work! For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus that we may do those good works which God predestined/planned beforehand (Ephesians 2:10).

God created us to work not just to have a job. When you are passionate/excited about your work, you will make a distinctive contribution, which leads to higher wages. Find out and do the works God created you to do so you can live the good life, which He prearranged and made ready for you to live.

Step 5: Develop a Prosperous attitude. Look beyond your own limitations and begin to see yourself as being prosperous in God. It’s not about you, your background, your intelligence or lack thereof.

It’s about a God who specializes in the impossible.

It’s about a God who can do exceeding, abundantly above all you can ask or think. Begin to alter your life by altering your attitude towards wealth and prosperity because God wants to prosper you.

Mindset and Management

Are you feeling overwhelmed?  Are you staring at a long list of tasks and new terminology, from SEO to social bookmarking?  Is some nagging voice in the back of your head trying to tell you, as you stare at the world wide web, that this is not your Grandfather’s way of making money, so how true could it be?

Well, you’re right about part of it, this isn’t your Grandfather’s way.  This is your way, and it’s going to be fantastic!

Every journey, it is said, begins at the first step.  Your first step is to work on you.  Before you buy hosting, before you load up your web page, before you build your list, you have to know how to get your head in the game and how to keep it there.

You’re taking a leap of faith into a vast, wild territory that changes every single day.  You’re one drop in a shifting sea.  In order to stand out, you need confidence.  You need personal development.

You need to apply the Secret of success.

The Secret is just this:  everything begins with a thought.  Thoughts lead to actions, which leads to the results of those actions made manifest in your life.

The Orville brothers had a thought about a flying machine.  They took the action of sitting down to design their machine and then going out to test it.  They manifested the ability for you to go to an airport and be anywhere in the whole world in a matter of hours.

And you thought you were sailing uncharted waters!

So, just thinking you can do it - is half the battle. As you think it, ink it ...begin to see it come true.
