12 Ways to Excel in 2012 ....and 12 Reminders to Keep it Moving

This is a good companion to my post 12 Ways to Excel in 2012

I got this nugget from Google +   (try it, if you haven't ...it's some amazing stuff over there!)

Apparently these are 12 things that happy people do.

I generally think of myself as a happy person, but this is a good reminder.

1. Express gratitude.
2. Cultivate optimism.
3. Avoid over-thinking and social comparison.
4, Practice acts of kindness.
5. Nurture social relationships.
6. Develop strategies for coping.
7. Learn to forgive.
8. Increase flow experiences.
9. Savor life’s joys.
10. Commit to your goals.
11. Practice spirituality.
12. Take care of your body.

John 3:16 Ad Airs During NFL Playoffs

It was such a blessing to see the John 3:16 commercial aired today during the Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots NFL Playoff game.

In case you missed the ad, here it is:

Last year, a John 3:16 super bowl ad was refused a spot before the nation’s largest TV viewing audience because it contained too much “religious doctrine,” according to FOX.

However, the commercial does not feature a preacher, sermon or Bible.

It offers a question: “John 3:16, what’s that mean?” and a simple answer, “Look it up.”

Sadly, we seem to be moving towards a day where any mention of God is rejected or censored, even in a commercial with a guy holding a glass of beer.

Are we really concerned about not offending other religions, or simply forgetting the one true God who’s favor makes our freedom possible?

Let’s hope NBC has more courage this year.

What do you think?
